How do I cancel my subscription?

Step-by-step instructions for canceling your Cuddle Premium subscription on iOS and Android, and what happens after cancellation.

Introduction

You can cancel your Cuddle Premium subscription anytime through your device's app store. Canceling is straightforward, and you'll keep Premium access until the end of your current billing period.

Important: Deleting the Cuddle app does NOT cancel your subscription. You must cancel through your app store settings.

Canceling on iPhone/iPad (iOS)

Method 1: Through Settings App

  1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad
  2. Tap your name at the top (your Apple ID profile)
  3. Tap Subscriptions
  4. Find and tap Cuddle in your list of subscriptions
  5. Tap Cancel Subscription (or Cancel Free Trial if in trial period)
  6. Confirm by tapping Confirm

Method 2: Through App Store

  1. Open the App Store app
  2. Tap your profile icon in the top right corner
  3. Tap Subscriptions
  4. Find and tap Cuddle
  5. Tap Cancel Subscription
  6. Confirm cancellation

Confirmation

You'll see a confirmation message, and the subscription page will show when your Premium access ends instead of the next billing date.

Canceling on Android

Method 1: Through Play Store App

  1. Open the Google Play Store app
  2. Tap your profile icon in the top right
  3. Tap Payments & subscriptions
  4. Tap Subscriptions
  5. Find and tap Cuddle
  6. Tap Cancel subscription
  7. Follow the on-screen instructions
  8. Confirm cancellation

Method 2: Through Play Store Website

  1. Go to play.google.com/store/account/subscriptions
  2. Sign in with your Google account
  3. Find Cuddle in your subscriptions
  4. Click Manage > Cancel subscription
  5. Confirm cancellation

Confirmation

You'll receive an email from Google confirming the cancellation, and your subscription will show an end date.

What Happens After Canceling

During Current Billing Period

  • Premium access continues until the end of the period you already paid for
  • All Premium features remain available
  • Your partner keeps Premium access (if you're paired)
  • Your data and progress are saved

After Billing Period Ends

  • Premium features become locked
  • You automatically move to the free plan
  • Your partner loses Premium access (unless they have their own subscription)
  • Your data remains saved:
    • All responses, quiz results, and insights are preserved
    • If you resubscribe later, everything will be where you left it

Your Data Is Safe

Canceling your subscription does NOT delete your data. All your:

  • Question responses
  • Quiz results
  • Check-in history
  • Partner connection
  • Relationship insights

...remain saved in your account. If you resubscribe later, you'll have full access again.

Verifying Your Cancellation

On iPhone

Go to Settings > [Your Name] > Subscriptions > Cuddle

You should see:

  • "Expires on [date]" instead of "Renews on [date]"
  • No "Cancel Subscription" button (it changes to "Resubscribe")

On Android

Go to Play Store > Profile > Payments & subscriptions > Subscriptions > Cuddle

You should see:

  • "Expires on [date]" or "Canceled"
  • Option to "Resubscribe" instead of "Cancel"

Common Cancellation Issues

I Don't See Cuddle in My Subscriptions

Possible reasons:

  1. Subscription is under a different Apple ID or Google account

    • Check if you have multiple accounts
    • Look under family sharing accounts
  2. Your partner is the subscriber

    • If paired, one subscription covers both
    • Ask your partner to check their subscriptions
  3. Using the free plan

    • You may not have ever subscribed to Premium
    • Check your payment history in your app store

Canceled But Still Being Charged

Troubleshooting:

  1. Check cancellation confirmation

    • Verify you see "Expires on [date]" not "Renews on [date]"
  2. Your partner has an active subscription

    • If paired, their subscription covers both accounts
    • Check with your partner
  3. Recent cancellation timing

    • If you canceled just before renewal, one more charge may process
    • That will be your final charge
  4. Contact app store support

    • For billing issues, contact Apple or Google support
    • They can confirm subscription status and process refunds if applicable

Can't Find the Cancel Button

  • Make sure you're looking in the app store settings, not the Cuddle app itself
  • Verify you're signed in with the correct account
  • Check under Family Sharing if applicable
  • Try the web method (especially for Android)

Resubscribing After Cancellation

You can resubscribe anytime:

  1. Go to the same subscription settings
  2. Tap Resubscribe or start a new subscription in the app
  3. Choose your plan (Monthly or Annual)
  4. Confirm purchase
  5. Premium access restores immediately
  6. All your saved data becomes accessible again

Canceling During Free Trial

If you're in the 7-day free trial for the annual plan:

  1. Follow the same cancellation steps above
  2. You must cancel before the trial ends to avoid being charged
  3. We'll send reminder emails before trial expiration
  4. If you cancel during trial, Premium access ends immediately (not at trial end)

Refund Requests

Refund Policy

Cuddle subscriptions are processed through Apple and Google, so refund decisions are made by them, not us.

How to Request a Refund

iOS:

  1. Go to reportaproblem.apple.com
  2. Sign in with your Apple ID
  3. Find your Cuddle subscription charge
  4. Select "Request a refund"
  5. Choose reason and submit

Android:

  1. Go to support.google.com/googleplay/workflow/9813244
  2. Follow the refund request process
  3. Select Cuddle from your purchases
  4. Submit request

Refunds are evaluated by Apple/Google based on their policies.

Alternative to Canceling: Pause

Unfortunately, there's no way to "pause" your subscription. If you need a break:

  • Cancel now and resubscribe when ready
  • Your data will be waiting for you
  • You won't lose your progress or history
